I'm getting a 160 GB SSD for boot and programs, a 1 TB HDD to record/store videos from fraps to, and a 500 GB HDD for media (games, music, etc...) Would I benefit more from using my SATA connections on my SSD and 500 GB HDD since thats where all of my games, music will be, or more from using it on my SSD and 1 TB HDD that I will be recording/storing videos on? Thank you!

Solution
I presume you're asking what drives to put on the SATA III connections?

I'd go with the SSD and the 500GB drive. The 1TB will mostly be used for sustained read/write, which doesn't need as much throughput.
So you must have a really old motherboard with an IDE connection? Because pretty much ALL connections to hard drives these days are used with SATA.

Yeah, use the SATA connections for the SSD and the 500GB drive.
The only reason you would want that drive faster is because of your games.
(me for example... I have StarCraft II on my SSD cause it takes a while to load on other drives.)

Lastly, I actually think you might be confused about SATA...
the vast majority of connections are SATA nowadays. IDE doesn't even exist on some motherboards.
