Hi! well I want to ask you guys, if is it worth to build a new system (considering that we are in April 2013) I have a 3/4 years old computer base on AMD processor and I want to change to Intel, I know that Sandy Bridge-E is now out there and I was considering a new platform base on it.

The new generation of consoles will be out there at the end of this year and this will mean that pc games will require more powerful pc´s, so I don´t know if is it worth to upgrade my pc now or wait till the new consoles go out and see if any new happens in the pc world, and is it woth to upgrade to PCIe 3.0? so I hope you can help me with this, thanks!

Solution
I'd wait - I'd just wait longer. After the 700/8k series and haswell will come a round of not just refreshes, but updates.

That's when we'll be getting the hardware that smashes the consoles back into the dust.
Pretty soon we're going to have Haswell and the 700 / 8k series of cards, but none of those are going to bring huge increases in performance.

I highly recommend waiting for the new line of consoles to drop, because games will start being able to use more powerful hardware, and thus more powerful hardware will be developed.
