Searched high and low for the past 2 days and tested many "solutions" (will discuss what I've tested later) without finding a solution. So I'm here in deperate need of help

Hardware
------------
Mobo: z77 Extreme4
CPU: i5-3570k
HDD: 2x WD Black 1TB
Ram: Corsair Vengence 8GB DDR3 1600

Problem: Windows 7 will not load past disk.sys

Back story: While plugging in a new USB device in the back of my z77 Extreme4 mobo, I accidently pressed the Clear CMOS button >_>
This promptly caused the machine to reboot. On reboot the machine hung and would not get back into windows.

I reinstalled windows 7 and this booted into windows properly, and I got everything installed I needed and before I went to bed rebooted the machine for windows updates. Upon waking the machine was hanging on windows shut down screen.

I rebooted the machine and waited for windows to come back up. It was taking longer than normal so I left it for 8 hours. Never booted into windows.

Prior to all of this I've had no problems with the entire system mind you for 3 months.

I proceeded to reinstall windows 7 - did not work
removed all devices, used on board video, reinstalled windows (actually just assume after all HW testing I reinstalled windows - lost count today actually) - this did not work
My BIO's is already 2.8 (it shipped with this) but I flashed it properly agian to 2.8 - failed
Attempted to install windows xp - failed by blue screening
Attempted to repair windows 7 - unable to repair
removed all but one HDD, plugged it into a new SATA port - failed

I'm at a loss. If anyone has a possible solution, it would be much appricaited. If you need more information, let me know as well.

As my point of view, any motherboard with a Z77 chipset will be compatible. id just pick the cheapest board, unless there arent enough places to plug in the fans.
