my pc keeps restarting in the middle of booting

my pc..... Intel dg33fb, 2gb ram, pentium 2.7 duo. Its keeps restarting from the middle of booting exactly from windows xp logo.... But i can stay in the bios settings for as long as i want..... No sounds, date nd time is perfect..... I tried the jumper, battery..... Any suggestions.... Plz......

safe mode is't working...... Bootable cd, can u tell me how it's done......

My best guess is that there is a problem from how something was written to the HDD from the memory during the last shutdown. Can't recall the process for XP, but there should probably be some kind of repair function like with 7. Hopefully you have the system disc still. Put it in and boot from that, then there should be an option different from "Install" that says "repair system" or something to that effect.

There is also the possibility of a virus, but with this kind of issue I imagine that possibility is remote.

If not then I can only hope you have a backup somewhere because I think you may need to do a clean install to get the system back up and running. Someone else might know how to handle getting into the system in Safe Mode or something like that to cleanup the registry.

i can't repair the xp cause when i boot from the cd i only having an option called recovery console....... Any suggestions...... Plz.....
