Im completely new to overclocking. I want to overclock my i7-3770k to 4.5ghz using the Noctua NH-D14 cooler. All i need to know is what ram mhz speed should i buy. I Have OC Genie 2 if that helps. And for those of you familiar with OC Genie, do i just set it to 4.5ghz and let the genie do the rest, or do i have to set the clock speed for the cpu, ram and fsb?

A mod will probably move it for you.

That being said, you should NEVER use software / a motherboard "feature" to overclock for you - always, always, always go into the BIOS and do it the proper way, increasing clock speed in increments along with voltage.

Ok i read it. For my processor since its unlocked im guessing ill just have to set the multiplier to 45 and enable/disable some power features and put the voltage around 1.20 and keep increasing until it becomes stable. The question still remains about the ram speed. Would i be ok with 1866mhz 9-10-9-28?
