What is the best GPU I can get if I just wanna play Battlefield 3 or other FPS games on a single 1080p monitor? I was looking at the EVGA GTX 660 FTW edition, will this be good enough? or should i get something better?

More about : gpu 1080p monitor

Lol!No no there is no 7870xt that compares with a GTX 670 a GTX 670 is faster then a 7950 and slower then a 7970 anyway get the 660 since you only plan to play on high settings and that way you save money as well.

I'm playing BF3 right now on a 1080p monitor using the Inno3D GTX 660 iChill.

I play on Ultra settings and most of the time when I look at my FPS while playing it's usually at about 50 FPS. It can go up well above 70 FPS in some scenes while not in combat. I'm not sure what the minimum FPS is in heavy combat, but it still runs smooth enough for me to assume it never drops below 30 FPS.

Hope that helps. :)

well, to be honest look at benchmarks... 7870xt (tahiti board, which is the same board with 7950) is a good choice according to its price and for sure better than a 660ti, especially if you consider that its cheaper than it. ofcourse it is slightly lesser performing than a gtx670 but anyway i said "competent" for it, not better than it >.>

670 is like 350-400$
7870xt is like 240-260$
660ti is like 250-280$

read some more before you make weird comments imo :)
