CPU maximum frequency drops to 30% when underload

My laptop CPU is running at 100% when idle or when not loaded, but it falls to 30% when it comes to gaming like "Darksiders 2" and even the old "warcraft 3"..
I have cleaned the heatsink and changed the thermal compound.. but the problem still there..

ACER ASPIRE 4750G

Intel(R) Core I5-2410m cpu 2.30ghz (4CPUs)
memory :8Gb Ram
OS : W7 Home Premium 64-bit

Does sound like a heat problem as it seems you have tried to combat.

You can try running CoreTemp to see what temps your CPU is getting then you can confirm if this is the case.

Are counting on the speed drop when both cores are being used that turbo boost will give you? This processor with a single core being used and no heating issues can reach a speed of up to 2.9GHz with turbo boost.
