Hello Everyone ,

Here are my system specs :

Intel quad core @2.83 Ghz
Asus p5q pro
2*2 gb DDR2 zion ram
zotac Gts 250 graphic card
Cooler master 600 W

Now my pc has been causing problems for a year now , but the current problem seems to be very difficult to diagnose.
Ok here it goes , firstly i was having these random restarts all of a sudden and a few days later , windows wont boot anymore ( Restarts at windows 7 logo)
After a bit of diagnosing , i found that the CPU temps were very high , so i replaced the heat sink and the temps came back to normal . All the fans are working fine and temperatures are fine .
Then these red , white and blue lines , dots all the screen and sometimes patches of mash. I havent found out what is causing this.

Now then came the main blow , the pc will not even boot . I press the power button , everything starts up , all fans running but no post nor any beeps .

Here is what i did ,
removed the ram and got 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps .
placed the ram back , silence again .
removed the graphic card , got 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps .
i cant understand what is happening , its looking like a harware issue to me , as i cannot boot also .

Please somebody help me out .

Hmm, try using only 1 stick of RAM, let see which one that made your PC won't boot.
I ever got this situation before and I found that 1 of my RAM is broken.

Try that first and get back to us as soon as you got the result.. :)

With the initial troubles with lines and lots of graphical glitches I'd initially have suspected the graphics card. I'd have been tempted to remove it and give the cooling a bit of an inspection.

Are you able to borrow an old graphics card off a mate to try? I'd try clearing the BIOS too.
