I am torn between these two laptops. They both have an i7, plenty of ram, and great graphics cards. The big difference is that the lenovo has a metal body, supposedly is more reliable, and has more creature comforts, but it is limited as far as customization or . The Acer has support for up to 16 gigs of ram (comes with 6 though), has two hard drive slots, and has a slightly faster card. the downside for the acer is that it has a cheaper outside, as in the trackpad is not as good, the body feels cheap, and things like that. I guess what I am asking is: should I go for customization and slightly better performance, or go for quality and comfort/possible longevity?

I am going to be doing video rendering / editing, schoolwork, and doing some light gaming.
I am replacing my acer aspire 7560 with one of these two (its starting to show its age and has a bad but workable monitor.)
If you can find a better laptop for a similar price, please suggest it!

I have not had a chance to use the Lenovo.. but i have however used the acer, the track pad feels cheap, and the keyboard has tons of flex. The screen doesn't feel solid when opened, and it's quite loud. I wasn't a fan of the cheapness either.

With not actually having hands on with the lenovo.. it's hard to give feeback.. but i HAVE used the lenovo P400 touch, with it's metal body, and touch screen. It had a horrible track pad as well, but the metal body was just to die for. I have a samsung series 7 now, and it's also metal, I don't think i would go with a non metal chasis ever again.

Just my $0.02
