Hello Everyone, I am currently running a 7970 on an ASROCK PRO4 with a 600PSU. I am looking at two options for my "potential" upgrade. It is either xfiring the 7970 which means I would have to buy a new motherboard (With good PCI.E spacing) because the PRO4 is a 16x and 4x mobo and a PSU with a larger watt. The other choice is to go with the GTX 690 and getting a psu at a slightly higher watt than my current. I've done calculations (roughly) and realized that they are the same price range. Any advice on which path I should follow. Thanks for your help!

I would say 1 card is better than 2. You end up using a lot more power with 2 cards and usually its not worth it unless to save money on the hardware. The only reason i can see to use 2 cards is if you can buy 1 card similar to what you already have and get a performance boost by JUST that. since you have to replace motherboard and PSU (unless you want to upgrade your whole system) just upgrade the card and PSU. I suggest getting a good quality and high wattage PSU because as long as it meets the wattage needs you can reuse it in your future upgrade as well. just be sure its a high ampere single rail PSU and you should be fine for future upgrades =)
