I am getting ready to build my first computer and have a question about the Haswell CPU and Motherboards.

I have been buying parts as I find good deals on different sites. Will the DDR 3 RAM and the Graphics card that I bought work with the Haswell chip and MB if I wait and get them instead of buying an Ivy Bridge CPU and Board?

I am of course assuming that the PSU and Case will be fine as well.

Thanks

yes. if you bought the parts within the last 2 years at a minimum they will work no problem. even though bignastyid is correct he some what neglects the fact that pcie 2.0 will also work on that motherboard.

Great!

Thank you both. So far I have:

1. Corsair Carbide 300R case
2. Antec HCP 750 psu
3. 8GB Gskill DDR3 1600 ram (2 X 4GB)
4. XFX Radeon 7850
5. LG DVD writer
6. 1TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5

I was just getting ready to buy an I7-3770k and a Gigabyte Z77 UD5 board when I decided we are close enough that I might as well wait for the Haswell CPU. If Gigabyte comes out with a comparable board for the Haswell, would it be a good choice for my system?

I would also love any cooling recommendations. I have been looking at the CM 212 EVO or maybe a corsair H60 water cooler.

Thanks for the input.
Cheers!

Didn't think i needed to mention pci-e 2.0 or 1.0 since 3.0 is backwards compatible, its a moot point anyway since the 7850 he plans on using is 3.0.

Parts look good, Gigabyte will more than likely have a good offering. As far as a cooler do you want to overclock?

I am looking at overclocking. As this is my first complete build, I am hesitant to do it though.

However, that is why I was looking at the K CPU (probably the I7-4770K Haswell). I may not do it right off the bat, but I will probably play with it once everything is running well.

Either one should fit, but barely.
