Hopefully, I'm posting correctly--

I've been through the posts in this forum and they have given me no resolve to my issue with loading Windows 7.

I have a Dell that has a Hard Drive that took a nose dive. So I purchased a new Seagate 1TB Serial ATA 7200RPM 64GB cache.

My processor is an Intel Core i5-750 (2.66GHz)
This is a single drive computer
I am loading Win7 from a CD supplied by Dell. Here is where the problems started:

Recently had a the hard drive fail in my Studio XPS 8100. I purchased a new Seagate SATA 1TB to replace the failed Seagate 750GB that came with my Dell. I have been to the "Windows 7 Manual Reinstall" page and when I start my computer and get to Step 4 the computer will not boot from the DVD that my DataSafe Backup is on. It gives me a screen that says:
WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE CAUSE. TO FIX THE PROBLEM:
1. INSERT YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLATION DISC AND RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.
2. CHOOSE YOUR LANGUAGE SETTINGS AND THEN CLICK "NEXT"
3. CLICK "REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER"
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS DISK, CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR OR COMPUTER MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE.
STATUS: 0xc000000f
INFO: THE BOOT SELECTION FAILED BECAUSE A REQUIRED DEVICE IS INACCESSIBLE.
First of all, I don't have a Windows installation disk. All I have was the Dell DataSafe Backup disk that I had to make in order to save my computer if this happened.

I found out Friday, from a Dell Represetative, that DataSafe does not back-up the Operating System. When I got the computer I received only a "Drivers and Utilities" CD. So, with no operating system, Dell DataSafe will obviously not load. I have just received the Windows 7 OS disk from Dell and now I come to my next problem.

I get to the "Where do you want to install Windows" dialog and click on the only drive showing labeled "Disk 0 Unallocated Space" and then click "Next" but then a dialog opens and it says "Unable to create new partition system partition or locate an existing partition. See setup log files for details." So, I try formatting the "Disk 0 Unallocated Space" which changes it to "Disk 0 Partition 1". I click next and it still gives me a "Unable to create new partition system partition or locate an existing partition. See setup log files for details." dialog. Why will Windows 7 not load?

As I've said before, I went through the posts on this forum and have gotten nowhere with the bits of information. So has this issue ever been solved? Not for me it hasn't. So who has a great fix for me? Dodger46???

I'll tell you why I had no luck.... because after I deleted all the partitions and unhooked all of the USBs and did everything the posts in this forum asked me to do, I never rebooted the system. Yes, after all of that all I had to do was close the Windows Install window and restart the system, select the un-partitioned, unallocated drive and... v'iola... the installation process has begun.

Oi vey!
