I'm worried that 2gb just won't cut it in the near future. Is it worth selling my 670s now while they still have value to buy the new cards coming out soon with more Vram or should I just use the 670s for the life I get out of them because the new cards won't be that much more powerful.

Solution
I would keep the 670's and hold out for the next-next generation Maxwell cards in 2014. You won't run out of VRAM before then and the Maxwell cards should be very innovative (they somehow interact with the PC's RAM to augment their own VRAM, or something like that).

Next month should be interesting in terms of the GTX 780 though, which is supposed to be a GK110 chip, same as the Titan, but at a much lower price. We'll have to wait and see, and that's what you should do in terms of any purchase or selling decisions.
The only way your 2GB SLI setup won't cut it is if >4K monitors become the standard.

Monitor manufacturers can't even pump out high speed gaming monitors (120Hz+) at resolutions higher than 1080p. I'm not sure of your monitor setup, but if you plan to be on a single monitor or 3x1080p monitors, you should be ok for a couple of years.

On the other hand, if you always have to have the latest and greatest, get ready to sell your 670s to maximize their resale value when the next gen is released.

Just curious... Where did you hear of an upcoming next-gen release?

Well I don't think the 780 will be much faster. But it will offer better compute, I am considering getting a 780 just for that reason alone. And according to rumors 5gb of VRAM, which will help with higher resolutions. I see a 5gb 780 being mch more future proof than a 670 or a 680. I have a 680 and have been considering much the same as you.

There's an article here on Toms...

Ah, I saw that:
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Nvidia-GeForce-GTX-700-Kepler,22204.html

When the article starts "There is a rumor on the web..." I don't pay as much attention.

If it's true, I'll take 2 780s. It seems too soon, though. They usually go with an 18-month cycle. I got my 680s a month after they came out (I think?) back in April last year. Seems like Septemberish would be more likely.
