I will be buying a new build and of course,i have to buy some memory :D

anyways i will take 8Gb and i'm wondering if it would be better to take a single 8Gb stick or 2 with 4Gb..

The single stick seems to be a bit cheaper for some reason so i would like to take it instead of two sticks..

since i don't really know so much about ram i'd like to ask a couple of questions:

1.can i with a single stick still have a dual channel memory?
2.is it worth paying a couple of bucks extra for 1600mhz instead of 1333mhz?
3. what i want to buy is Patriot Viper3,1600Mhz, 8GB memory, can someone say something about the patriot brand and if they are reliable?

Solution
1. no two sticks are needed for dual channel support.

2.Only if your processor supports it . The gain will be unnoticeable except in benchmarks. UNLESS you are using the integrated video. It will help considerably on the video. If you are purchasing a dedicated video card don't bother with faster memory unless you plan on overclocking an AMD system. Lots of variables here.

3. I have an older set of 2x4 gig and no problems for the past couple years. If you are going with an Intel system, make sure it is 1.35 or 1.5volt set. 1.65v on an Intel system voids your warranty and could fry the CPU.
