well i've already read that guide of c2 oc
didnt helped much

cpu - core 2 duo e7500
mobo - AsRock G41C-VS
Ram - 8GB 1333MHz
PSU - 450W
Cooler : Cooler Master TX3 EVO
TC : Cooler Master Ice Gel Came with Fan

i could not reach more than 3.4GHz
even 3.4GHz isnt much stable well tested on p95 but still firefox crashes on 100% load

what must i do else i have tried everything
there was a time i have run my cpu even on 85C with np how ever its 55C max on 3.4GHz with new cooler.

i want to overclock atleast 3.66GHz please help.

Solution
g41 chipset really sucks for OC I built one for a friend 4 years ago with an asus g41 board i could never go over 3.4ghz with a E8400 cpu tested it on my p5q-E and hit 4.1 ghz at the same voltage as the g41 board at 3.4ghz.

Before reading on and replying to the below information, you should always try the motherboard manufacturers OC software so you can get a good baseline of what your system can do. If this software gets you the clocks you want, then there is no reason to go further.

http://www.asrock.com/feature/OCTuner/download.asp?Model=G41C-VS

For assistance overclocking we will need you to give us as much information as possible about your current setup. Tell us everything that you have changed in BIOS, and what you changed it to so the users here can assist you properly.

Video card brand and model.
Memory manufacturer and part # if possible.

FSB, vcore, memory multipliers, the current value of every setting you have changed from the default is needed.

Honestly I think your power supply needs to go, but that depends on your video card. 450W is really low for anyone attempting to overclock.

Some quick and easy things that may get you higher clocks. Disable all non-essential on board hardware. Remove all but one memory stick. Remove all non-essential add/on hardware/usb devices. Disable hyper threading (will decrease performance in well threaded games).

Mactronics, B3 had a max temp of 100C, B2 had a max temp of 85C. The cpu should be fine.

Duke, the point of overclocking is to gain additional performance instead of buying new or more powerful hardware. Whenever a build no longer meets my requirements, I have always overclocked my hardware first and replaced it second if the OC killed the part or didn't give enough performance.

OCing a somewhat modern quad core CPU would make proper sense but OCing an old Dual core for marginal gains in a world where quad core CPUs are pretty much essential is a bit futile IMHO.

I would argue that there is virtually no reason to OC a modern quad core CPU as you will gain almost no real world performance and put your parts at unnecessary risk and increase your electric bill.

Kido's OC "To see how high they can go". I prefer to OC because the part no longer meets my demands and I want to squeeze it for every drop before replacing it.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as the OP didn't make a thread titled "Tell me my CPU sucks" your comments so far are worthless. If you aren't here to help, then why are you here?

Troll the news, not the help requests.

well i have tried going till 3.3GHz 302x11 rams freq was near 1280MHz
i have tried 333X10 also it was also stable the temp was max 54C max
the rams was on 1334MHz and it was running good but i cannot go over 3.33GHz it was not stable
and pc does not boots on 3.5GHz well cpu temp is not a problem its down and the rams aren't the problems too i have 2 options of ram freq i have tried downclocking it but still no use of it tried changing timings also i seen the things in cpu-z.Oc tuner help me much so, i always overclock from bios i dont know much about over voltage i dont did it but i dont have an problem but please tell me right settings if it is required i got no problem in burning my cpu :D. 9400gt nvidia 1gb DDR2.
