is my powersupply big enough, i would like to upgrade monitor if it worth it. i have Acer 20" 1600x900 monitor. i assume i need coolermaster hyper 212 evo for fx-8350 if i upgrade i currently using the stock cooling for the fx-6300. also would like a ssd. have the fx-6300 overclocked to 3.8 Ghz.

Your answer should be easy enough to determine .

Run the FX 6300 at stock and take a note of your FPS

Run it clocked to FX 8350 speeds . The AMD unified driver can do this for you easily .

That should be the performance increase you will see in day to day single threaded tasks . In games like Crysis 3 you will see a little more because of the core count .

All things considered I think its probably not worth the upgrade . In a few months AMD may have Steamroller cpu's that should slot right in to your motherboard . They will be more powerful and run cooler . Then it would be worth an upgrade

Windows 8 does absolutely nothing win 7 x64 cannot, and in fact win 8 has problems with some games.

The 8350 is not worth it coming from a 6300.

Overclock the 6300.

Win 8 does not have a problem with any games , and it should be your choice of an OS . IT will have a longer service life , can be loaded onto another computer when you retire that one , and you can make it look and behave just like 7 in a few minutes of removing apps and loading a start button .

The ASUS M5A97 R2.0 has only a single slot graphics card . With the radeon 7950 you will only need a 500 watt psu . In future card and processor upgrades you are likely to need less power because they will be more efficient

Crysis and borderlands say high, just to name a couple.

Win 8 is good, getting better, but not worth it over win 7 x64 yet.

Im playing Crysis here using an FX6300 , Radeon 7870 and Win 8

I have NO issues
