I replaced a motherboard and when I go to reinstall using the "repair your computer" selection it says the version of Windows installed isn't compatible with the installation disc. When I tried to do a custom install it says it can't install on the hard drive because it's MBR and it can only be installed on GPT. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Best solution

a b $ Windows 7
a b G Storage
a b V Motherboard

Thanks for replying. I'm also replacing the CPU. The original CPU was AMD AM3, I was upgrading the motherboard and CPU to AM3+.

to make a bootable gpt disk, the motherboards' bios needs to be uefi, otherwise you will need to delete all the partitions on the drive and then let install create a new MBR one.
