GTX 460 or Radeon HD 7850 for ASUS P7P55D Delux

I HAVE A SAMSUNG HDD , windows 7 ultimate , 16 GB ram , Intel i5 quad core processor, and my motherboard is the ASUS P7P55D Delux . I have been running a GTX 260. I have a friend that will send me a GTX 460 , or a Radeon HD 7850. I had ordered a Radeon 6000 series , and it didnt work . I thought tht it was cuz it was refurbished , sent it back to 3B Tech, but on telephone they say it was a working card . Will my card run a Radeon?, box says crossfire and SLI technology. Link to board is http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/asus_p7p55d_deluxe/3.htm .... i REALLY CANT AFFORD TO BUY ONE ON FIXED INCOME , SO IF MY BOARD WONT RUN THE RADEON i WILL ASK FOR THE gtx 460 ...Thanks>: )

  1. It will run it, but your PSU might not. What's the power supply's brand and model number?
  2. Get the Radeon HD 7850 is much faster than the Old and true GTX 460 and it will work on your board.

Hes been running a GTX 260 it will be fine.
  4. it's weird why radeon 6k series not working with your mobo unless the pcie-e lanes itself is broken or going bad. btw 7850 definitely the card to take. it will eat 460 for breakfast

  6. Hey guys , thanks a lot . This was my first post , and this site is AWESOME :wahoo:>: ) I hope it isn't the slot going bad , because the second slot from what I read a while back is for a secondary card and not for use if using only 1 card . And is it really possible for a card to not work if ur pos aint got enuff juice? I can get a slightly bigger one if that is mandatory.
  7. the card can use any slot as long as the slot did not bottleneck the card (for example running the card on pci-e 1.1 x4 might bottleneck high end cards like 690). that antec 550 w should be good enough for 7850. in fact 7850 consume much less power than 460.
  8. Thanks a lot renz . It is in the mail , but , unlike "the check" , it actually is on the way ..lol.
