Hi im planning to get sdd first time and it seems that there are few things I need to know before installing such as ahci setting? Could you please direct me to the right steps I should follow?

Also Im gonna use old hdd with new sdd and wondering if I need to use sata3 port for hdd or sata2?

What should I do to check if my old hdd can run on sata3 or is it unnecessary?
