I just got my z77 mobo and everything is connected correctly. When I hit the power button the 700w psu lights up and the fan spins along with the 4 case fans and 1 cpu fan over my i5 3350P. All are receiving power via mobo connections and not from the psu directly. However, there is absolutely no video display, not even a BIOS screen. I have tried with my 6790 attached and through onboard vga connections. I think I might have my answer, but I just want to know if there are any other suggestions (I have already reset the cmos).

Newegg.com has the following in the mobo's description:

4×240pin DDR3 1066/1333/1600/1866(OC)/2133(OC), 2200*/2400*/2667*/2800*MHz(OC, 22nm CPU required)

Now I believe that because I am using 8GB of DDR3 2400 RAM that it will not display because the cpu is not overclocked (I don't plan on it either). If I am correct I should have purchased either DDR3 1066, 1333, or 1600. Or is there something else that could be causing my problem?

Thanks in advance even though I'll probably thank you after.

Hi,
The onboard graphics would not work (the CPU has no integrated graphics).
Test with single RAM installed. What power supply using? Does it have all the necessary PCIe power cables for the graphics card?

Got it working now. I had my pci 2.0 graphics card in a pci 3.0 slot. Thanks for the help though.

You're welcome. The 2.0 card should work in a 3.0 slot though. If the slot does not work, it might be a CPU socket bent pins issue.
