Best overall racing game and best looking racing game

So folks which racing game is best overall and which one has best graphics in your opinion ?
So far out of all the racing games I have played both the awards go to Burnout Paradise. I know this is completely wrong but then I have not played any 3-4 year old games except the new most wanted which sux both on gameplay and graphics.

That's a tuff call i am not sure of what's best but i like Dirt 3 and Grid 2

For me graphically it's NFS The Run. Using the Frostbite 2 engine (BF3 graphics) it looks awesome. Best gameplay for me though is RaceDriver Grid. It was an amazing experience specially online racing. Can't wait for Grid 2

I totally agree - best gameplay is GRID and Dirt 3. Can't wait for GRID 2!

Several people will tell you that NFS:Shift 2 is the best-looking, still.

Yup, The Run is very impressive and shiny, but that's not to eveyones liking. Decent performance too. I've only got a q6600 +560ti, play it on high with pretty decent FPS normally in the 50's. Some excellent slow mo crashes. very quick to finish though, only a few hours, but it's damn enjoyable.

NFS series, was brill, but has lost it's edge. NFS MW (the original rom 2006 I think, was awesome. I remember the noise of the CLK engine on my surround, and it made me smile.

That the one where you could just roam around? If so I loved that one. They don't make em like that any more there's always a task or mission or guild lines you have to stay in.

Still my favorite racing game overall. Loved maxing the RX-8 and Gallardo. Also kicking Razor's ass in the end.

yup, free roam, was cool. There are too many games which are linear, and have no feel to them. That was a great game. Lets hope Grid 2 lives up to it's reviews. RaceDriver: Grid still has me playing today. Although for mostly nostalgic purposes. C'mon dev's make some really decent racing games!!!!
