gtx660 is a newer card i'd definitely go for Nvidia.
if you have the budget i advise to get a better gpu though...

gpu's you are thinking are for this price... (the cheapest ones according to the manufacturers)
7850: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004
660: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500270

alternatively:
650ti boost: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125457
this gpu is slightly better and cheaper than 660. (its better than 7850 too)

What are you talking about? The 660 outperforms the Boost almost every time.

+1

That GTX 660 is the best bang for the buck since it's on sale. I'd get one myself (same resolution) if I wasn't waiting on the GTX 760.

uhm who says?
ok, agreed, generally 660 is a better card but some games 650ti-b works even more effective with better average fps compared to same setup with 660...
average fps this is what you going to realize in real world not weird synthetic benchmarks >.>

i am not even yet talking about the price difference and heat emission

650ti boost is the bang for the buck. especially in low resolutions like 1440*900

The gtx660 will always be better than the 650ti boost because they are both the same card except that the 660 has about 200 more CUDA cores, everything else is exactly the same. With the 660 being only 199.99 most of the time, I think it's a fair upgrade from the 650ti boost. There's only like 25$ difference between the 2 cards.

Less right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500270

And the performance difference is about 10-15% so my choice would be this Zotac card while it's on sale.

You are confusing OC headroom with OC scaling. The GTX 660, like all Kepler cards, has lots of OC headroom. AMD cards this generation tend to scale slightly better when overclocking.

All the same, the GTX 660 is the only way to go since it is just a little more expensive than a GTX 650 Ti Boost (~$20), but comes with a free copy of Metro: Last Light, which the 650 Boost does not.

I was referring to the bolded comment. I only said that it outperformed it.
