I've been digging around trying to figure this out for awhile: is there anything useful we can do with unused processors like onboard graphics chips or onboard audio chips? Seems like a waste of resources especially when theres a ton of thermal headroom in the case.

If you deactivate those functions in the BIOS the chips should remain in a passive state. They should not contribute any additional heat to the system in their passive state.

I know how to turn them off, I'm wondering if there is a way to use them for some other purpose in case we have discreet processors for graphics and audio. I really like your signature... If I get testy over this thread I'll take that advice

I don't know how you would repurpose the processors as they are dedicated to their functions. Trying to repurpose the sound processor would take some programming. The video processor may be different, as there are apps that use GPUs for different purposes. But it would take some programming with repurposing any dedicated processor.

Thanks - that's what I guessed at first. Maybe someday
