Hey, I'm hoping this is a relatively easy question to answer. I've tried to google it and haven't been able to find a straight forward answer. I'm planning on upgrading my current 250GB HDD to a 1TB. I have my OS on a separate SSD and not on my HDD. So I'm wondering how I would go about transferring the data from my HDD(250GB) to my new HDD(1TB). Can I just plug the new one into one of my open SATA ports and copy paste the data then remove the old one? Or would I have to get some third party program?

Copy and Paste is exactly what you do. Just open up the current HDD's top directory, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C, go to the new HDD's top directory (after formatting it to the appropriate file system), Ctrl+P, wait, then you may want to change the name of the drive to the one of the old one (after disconnecting the old one of course), DONE!
