Out of the blue, my PC recently started to have problems during the boot process. When I try to reboot, it locks before loading windows. The screen says:

Nvidia Raid IDE ROM BIOS 4.83
Detecting Array…

If I turn the PC off entirely and wait about a half hour or so, it will boot normally. Anyone have an idea what’s going on and how I can correct it? Any help would be appreciated.

Regards…John

No, been using the same equipment for some time. Initially thought a virus had slipped through, but boot time scan ruled that out.

Also, did a system restore, but the problem hasn't gone away.

Would really prefer not to. What in Windows do you think would cause this?

I'm really thinking it might be some kind of hardware problem. Otherwise, why would it work fine after a waiting period.
