So I was installing windows, and the PSU connected to the Mobo was loose I guess, and it shut the pc down during windows installation, now I fixed the loose connection but when I start up the computer again, all I get is a blank black screen, I have tried unplugging the hard drive to see if I just can get the BIOS but I cant even get to the BIOS. Can anyone help? I'm using a core i3 processor, ASRock z75 mobo, WD Caviar Blue 500gb hard drive.

Solution
CMOS or BIOS are the same thing.. click the link for complete instructions on how to reset the CMOS BIOS either with the battery removed or the jumper switched from 1 and 2 pins (normal) to 2 and 3 pins (reset).

Yes all mobos have a CR2032 button cell battery, you can't miss it... just watch the + and - position before you remove it so you'll put it back in the same way... if it's vertical on the mobo you may not be able to put it back in the wrong way but it saves on frustration to remember it's position... if it's in horizontally, the + or smooth side faces upwards.
