Ok well i installed HD inspector like 2 weeks ago and i have been looking at my HDDs , so anyways i have this HDD that i bough like 2 weeks ago too and i have it connect using an Sata adapter to USB so im in a laptop.

The thing is that today HD Inspector shows me the death time of my new HD ! and it only has 41 hrs of use ,compared to my laptop HDD that u can see in the picture it doesnt have a death time defined.

What u think xD?

Don't trust that software. Always use the software that your hard drive manufacturer provides. Seagate Drives have SeaTools and Western Digital has date lifeguard. For other drive you would have to search their website. The death time on that software is complete BS.

I never meant that o.o all i said is that it has only 41 hrs of use (turned on)

Thats a reflief xD gonna try that soft u mention but i will start to worry too much about what HD inspector says , just gonna use it to check the temperature

I didnt know that to be honest :D thanks

If your hard drives are running too hot, get an active cooling cage:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817993002

That cage has rubber screws that will reduce vibration, reducing noise.

Also note that you should keep backups of data, depending on a few factors. This includes: Data Importance, Hard Drive Quality, and hard drive age. You may be able to get a new hard drive under warranty but certain data is irreplaceable.

Thanks , well its ok the air flow in my case seems to be fine i have 1 fan fo 120mm on the left side and one infront that points directly to the HDD then another one on the back getting all the hot air out and the last one on the top also getting the hot air out that mostly comes from the processor . My HDD never gets over 32°Degrees even in full load and yes i have a data backup in an external Drive and also in my laptop. :)
