Hey all,

First post on here and im looking for some help. I just built a new gaming pc this past weekend, but I have a few questions that need some answering.

I have a Thermaltake Element V case (Nvidia ed.) and there is a vent for the PSU, but the case sits darn near flush on the ground. My PSU is a Rosewill HIVE 650w, so my first question is should my PSU fan be facing up into the case, or will having it face down causing heating issues..?, as if it was facing up, my GPU fans would be blowing into it.

Second question is there are no cable management grommets, just cut holes in the case, and Corsair has grommets for sale for the obsidian case, would those fit the holes? Or would anyone know where abouts to get/make grommets for those holes.

Lastly, I have an Evo 212 CPU heat sink, and it is attached securely, but I feel as if its pulling on the mobo, adding stress. Should I be worried, or am I just being paranoid?

Any help would be great!

Thanks again,

Cheers,

Hello magicman21.

Question #1: There's no wrong way to mount the PSU. I personally would mount it with the fan facing down so that the PSU has access to fresh air instead of air that's already in the case. But you can angle it however you want. Even at CrossFire or SLI, the GPU shouldn't be blowing hot air downward.

Question #2: I don't know. I don't have the case. I personally don't like the case -- CPU cutout is small and oddly placed, the fans are all different in model, not great cable management, water holes are badly placed and poorly designed, and the color of the cables wires included in the case are just depressing. Measure the cutouts and see if the grommets will fit.

Question #3: Should be fine as long as you screw in the motherboard well. Don't tighten the screws too hard though.
