Hello. I have this common issue that I lag alot in online games. I do however not lag when using proxy softwares like 'battleping'. When using that software the games run perfectly smooth.

I was wondering if there are any settings I should change in my router? I have had several routers and they all is having this issue. Talked to my ISP and they said my connection looks OK. I got 100/20 Mbits and low ping ms.

Would be very grateful if anyone could help. Currently I got the Asus RT-N65U router, wired connection.

Thanks.

You are going through your router weather you use battleping or not. So not sure that changing router settings would help too much. You also have a fantastic internet speed, im surprised you have lag. You could look into setting up a static ip for your pc and maybe look into port forwarding the ports of that particular game to the static ip you set for your pc. Don't think that would help much at all but you could try :)

Also, it may be worth looking into weather the game you are playing uses private servers or has their own. If some guy in Alaska is hosting a game over a satellite connection with 1/2 lag at best then that would effect you. Hope this helps.

I added TcpAckFrequency to my registry editor.
There where also other things you could add, but I just did that and it reduced the lagging. It reduces latency overall.
There is also a file that does this automatically, called; "Leatrix Latency Fix" (www.leatrix.com)
