As above, i have a GTX 550ti.

I am thinking of trying out 3D, then if i really take to it i will invest some good money in to get a good setup.

I'm looking at this monitor

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-D2342P-PN-inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B004V4G95Q/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

As it is cheap, and includes some glasses with built in emitter.

I play games like Black Ops 2, WoW, Skyrim etc.

I don't mind knocking the res down to 720p.

My other hardware is capable.

I also don't mind playing at medium settings.

So, can this card run these games on moderate settings in 3D? And will this monitor do?

As said, i really just want to TRY 3D and then if i like it i will get an expensive setup.

Thanks!!

*EDIT*

My Card is the above but with 1GB ram.

I don't have one, I have a GTX 660 SLI setup with a Vizio 3D TV, and I know that the 3D Vision software isn't compatible with it because it is passive. From what I've read about the LG monitor you are looking at, it too is passive and I assume it is incompatible with 3D Vision. This doesn't mean that some games can't be played in 3D. Just not all the Nvidia approved 3D Vision titles will work. I know I can play side by side 3D with my video card and TV in Crysis 2, Sonic Gen., Doom 3, Avatar the game and few other titles. The Xbox 360 also works fine with 3D supported games. You should be able to watch any "SBS" 3D movie, which is most of them on that monitor. This list is of monitors that use the 3D Vision program and according to Nvidia are the only monitors, TVs and projectors that are compatible with their 3D system:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-displays.html

The only LG on there is the LG W2363D

Also note that the Nvidia 3D program costs another $40 on top of everything else.

That would be your best bet. For playing games I would get no less than a GTX 670. I have a SLI GTX 670 setup in my i5 rig and it is great. I play the games that support it on my 3 Asus 27" monitors at 5760x1080 and the are great. I can play max settings at a full 60fps vsyc on with no frames dropped.
