Long story short, my GTX 570 died so its being RMA-ed. In the mean time I plugged in my old GTX 285 and I forgot how hot it runs. At load I am seeing temps as high as 80 Celsius. So i pose the question, should I be worried? What are recommended temps for a 285? Geforce website says 105 C is the peak, but that seems absurdly high.

Guidance please

Splendid
105c is the thermal throttling point when the gpu downclocks itself to prevent damage. Temps in the 80s are fine as others have said already, but check the heatsink for dust just in case. no point running it unnecessarily warm if it is caused by dust in the heatsink :)
