Hey, guys. I want to buy a new PC but I don't know a great deal about them. I use my PC to create digital art with Photoshop and Illustrator. I also do a little bit of programming/game making. I play a few games including WOW, Fallout and Oblivion. The PC I had could not run Skyrim without major lag. I am looking for an all round PC that is better than what I had. The most important thing for me is enough memory for my digital art but would like the PC to handle everything I enjoy, the game I play the most by far is WOW.

I found a PC on PC World, ADVENT DT2412 Desktop PC. It seems to be better than what I had. I don't really want to spend over £700, in an ideal world I would spend around £500.

Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-3770 processor 3.4 GHz
OS - windows 8
Graphics card - Dedicated MSI nVidia GT630 2GB DDR3 Core speed: 810 MHz
RAM - 16GB
Hard drive - 2T

Would this be any good for the things I want to do ?

Thanks for any help and feel free to offer an alternative to the PC I have found.

Solution
The gtx660 is in a league of its own compared to these other cards. The 6670 will also play at low settings. the gtx660 will play at high or max.

Thanks Tiny. That's a shame, not really worth it if its not much of an upgrade from my last PC. Think my last PC had windows vista with only 500MB and a a niveda gforce running at 2.5GHZ. Cant really remember much more than that. Any recommendations ?

You want a better GPU. Plain and simple. It is the weakest (very much so) part of this rig. Something like an hd7770 or gtx 650ti will get you medium settings in new games and slightly higher settings in older games. Should max oblivion and play skyrim at medium. WOW will likely run at high.

I checked out the graphics cards and had another look online. What do you guys think about a refurbished PC ? I found ADVENT DT2410 Refurbished Desktop PC at £380

Intel® Core™ i5-3330 processo, 8GB of RAM, 2TB hard drive, windows 8 OS and a AMD HD6670 [R6670-MD2GD3]- 2 GB DDR3 dedicated memory - 800 MHz core clock speed for a graphics card.

A lot cheaper than the previous PC I looked at. It might not be great but would it do the job ? or should I buy the original and upgrade the graphics card ? I can't really seem to find anything else that matches a good PC for a decent price.

Also found the MEDION® AKOYA® P5313 F with Intel® Core™ i5-3350P processor with a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 DirectX®11 graphics crd running at 3.3GHZ. 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive.

Thanks for all the help.

Thanks Tiny. On one had I could buy the ADVENT DT2412 Desktop PC with a poor graphics card and good memory/OS or the MEDION® AKOYA® P5313 F with the good graphics card with ok memory/OS.

If I buy the ADVENT DT2412 all I would have to do is upgrade the graphics card and it could last a while but its pretty expensive. The MEDION® AKOYA® P5313 F is a good price for what I would be getting. Think I will go with the MEDION® AKOYA® P5313 F because it seems good value and I will have the GTX660. Thanks again Tiny, you have been a great help.
