Hi, I have Win 7 Home Premium installed in my system. For some reason, my entire folder and it's contents have been deleted inadvertently and show up in the recycle bin. When I try restoring the files/ folders back by pressing the "Restore" button, it says "You need permission to perform this action". I am the only person who uses my computer and my name shows as "administrator" and yet I am unable to restore these deleted files. Can someone please help?

Which folder? Why did this happen?

Not sure how this happened (am still puzzled!) however the folder was in my C drive where I keep all my downloads. I can still see all the files in the recycle bin but for some reason cannot restore these back again.

Can you do it in safe mode? Or via a diagnostic disk such as Hiren's BootCD?

I'd still wonder why it happened. Virus, maybe? Folders don't just 'disappear'.

Tried through "safe mode"...not working, it's asking me for permission again
