Fan connection, Mobo or SPU?

Hi I bought a NZXT 200mm fan for my mini-atx prodigy case. However, my mobo only support one CPU fan, and one Chassis fan.

If I connect the NZXT directly to the SPU would it have variable speed? or is it going to run at constant speed all the time?

connect it to psu as it will run in full constant speed.

in mobo,you can change speed in bios

If your case isn't a NZXT case you may not be able to mount this fan.

As to your question about variable speed. Ashish65 is correct, only if you hook the fan to a motherboard that will monitor the temp will you have variable speed control. If you hook to the Power Supply it will not be adjustable it will just run at a constant speed.

Hey there was in fact some issues installing the fan.. nothing serious: I could just put 2 screws in it, one in the screw hole and other in the fan grind.

NZXT should put a label saying their stuff if they not gona follow the standards... kind of annoying. Other than that the fan itself its pretty good.

Nzxt claims there is no standard for the 200mm fans, however they are the only one with the mounting issue I've heard of. Also some complaints of a whining sound after a couple of months. I hope you have a better luck.
