Ok so I just built my computer and the only old part I used was my nvidia 9800gts+ Yesterday i turned on my pc and I had no signal I took my pc to a repair shop and they told me the card was shot but I can use my hdmi port from my mobo. Its a new msi gd65. It worked fine at his shop so I took it home. I plugged it into my newer pioneer receiver just like always and windows boots up then it shows not signal after watching it boot up?. I spent 2 hours with tech support with msi today changing things in the bios and I finally had to leave to work with nothing fixed. I've also tried to use the pc through another input directly into the tv with the same result and a different hdmi cable. I stopped by the repair shop on the way to work and he retested it and it was fine on his 32'' tv? Also I can use the pc in safemode with no problem but I lose signal in regular windows I'm at work now but I'm looking for ideas for when I get home. I did try another tv in the house with no signal but that was with the old card and I will try that again tonight. Any help is appreciated.

yes... video driver might be it too. but the tech at the pc store is claiming it works on his monitor just fine.

load into safe mode. make sure you have the right video drivers. actually see if it even loads into safe mode.

if you get the right drivers and the problem persists i suggest you have a look at the psu. sometimes hardware can cut out if its not getting clean consistent power. Just because you have a 1000W psu, doesn't mean its feeding power consistently.

enermax psus tend to be junk.

but that doesn't mean your psu is junk. check the drivers first. i would suggest cleaning the gpu drivers off your system. you should be able to load into safemode.

clean any reference to any video driver off your system, load windows up normally... and try a fresh install of your graphics drivers. lets do that first. if that doesn't work, i highly suggest you try a different psu and see if your system works better with that.

I'm not even sure how to clean off video drivers or where to find them. This sucks. how do i find the new drivers? Would it be on the msi website? Also can I install them while in safe mode? Again thanks for all the help

Go to the manufacturer of the video card and download the exact make/model number from their website. I usually download them to a USB stick prior to installing cards. When swapping a GPU, best practice is to remove all video drivers, shut down, update BIOS settings, save, shut down, then try to load Windows, using the USB stick to install the drivers. Sometimes it can be a bit of a pain, taking several attempts.
