Hello everyone! I'm not exactly new to computers (Even though I'm 17) but I just CANNOT figure out this computer!
BACKGROUND:

I am an active member on GameJolt, an indie developer website, and I love to play test and play other developer's games. I was a huge Linux only user for maybe a year, but due to learning C++ and Javascript, I have had to switch back to Windows XP in order to get any software for developing.

Anyways, to the point.
This laptop comes standard with Windows Vista, but with it only having 1GB of RAM, (1 GB!) Vista just wasn't going to work. I quickly switched to Linux Mint, and loved it... that is, until I discovered I'm a nerd and I need Windows to really open up doors for developing. I promptly got Windows XP SP3, and after a few errors that I thankfully solved, (Changing OS's can sometimes be challenging!) I went online to find the drivers for this thing. I found as many as I could, and was very excited to beta-test some friends games... until, the unthinkable happened.
I got a graphics error! It said that my graphics card may need to be updated, and that I had bad OpenGL! (Minecraft was another game I tried to play)
Apparently, I need to get the updates for the graphics card, but I'm having a hell of a time finding them.
Could I please get some help here?
I'm kind of lost, which is new to me.

What is your laptop's manufacturer / model or model number? Any leads?

It's an Acer Aspire 5315 with Intel Graphics.
At least, that's what the manufacturer says.
The main problem I'm having is no OpenGL, or even the ability to play ANY games on it.

Intel Celeron 500 series doesn't have integrated graphics so I'm guessing they're integrated into the motherboard chipset? This laptop is so old that I have absolutely no clue of its inner workings. I'd probably get a new laptop from this millennium and keep that old one as a spare emergency device in case I'd ever need to quickly break the window or something.
