I do not have Norton AV installed.
Symantec/Norton is not in my Start Programs.
Symantec/Norton is not in my Control Panel Programs

YET -

CcSvcHst is in my Task Manager processes.
CcSvcHst.exe is in my Program Files. I cannot delete it - "the file is open in Symantec Service Framework."
I cannot find Symantec Service Framework.

A SEARCH TURNS UP "COOKIE: MYNAME@SYMANTEC.COM".
I cannot delete it. Error: 0x80004002: No such interface supported.

How can I get rid of these Symantec products? I have never installed Norton on this laptop. I am, however, a Comcast customer, and Comcast and Norton are joined at the hip.

I saw that already, but none of the selections apply to my situation.
I don't have Norton installed.

The steps to download and run the Norton Removal Tool differ depending on what product you have.
Choose your product:
I have a Norton product that was purchased from my service provider
I have Norton AntiVirus, Norton Internet Security, or Norton 360
I have Norton Security Suite or Norton Business Suite
I have Norton Ghost or Norton Save & Restore
I have pcAnywhere or WinFax

Thanks, I'll try it. I did a MalwareBytes quick scan this morning and nothing showed up. I wish it had found the symantec cookie. I don't know how that got on my computer, since I don't use NAV.

The files are still there. I just came across this (mine is a Toshiba Qosmio):

http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/Computer-Troubleshooting/Satellite-L775-Problem-with-software/td-p/236252

He states: "... the problem I'm having is I can not get all of Norton off this computer, it is still running 2 programs (ccSvcHst.exe which is under this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton PC Checkup\Engine\2.0.13.11) and (SymcPCCULaunchSvc.exew which is under this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton PC Checkup\Engine\2.0.13.11) and under the control panel there is nothing about Norton."

The problem is: I can't work with "keys" and a registry the way the two people who posted there did. There are only 3 or 4 comments in that thread, so if you read it and get an idea for what else I might try, please let me know, and thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's gone. I found the Toshiba Symantec PC Checkup in the Control Panel and uninstalled it I still had to delete various Norton App Data folders. But now I think it's all gone. : )
