^Good points. If you're interested in those games, or plan to sell them, that's like getting the card for a whole lot less. The HD7870 XT is the stronger card too.
The 660 uses less power though, something to keep in mind depending on the size of your PSU. Even a good 400W PSU will run it, whereas you'll need at least 450W (500W would be better) for the HT7870 XT.

+1. until amd fix their drivers/crossfire issues, wouldn't even think about going crossfire as an upgrade path, in that case the 660 would be better if you planned to go dual SLI cards later as they don't have any real issues. But I honestly think there is minimal amd can do with their drivers for crossfire problems its also partly a hardware thing.

I've actually been looking at both of these cards recently, and I think the purely better card is the 7870 xt. The 7870 xt is closer to GTX 660ti performance and even surpasses the 660 ti in some areas.
