I just put together a new build with a CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout II case. The case has 2 USB 3.0 connectors in the front of the case; the problem is my motherboard only has 2 USB 3.0 connectors on the back of the motherboard, with no expansion ports to attach to the available front connectors. Does anyone know of a USB 3.0 expansion card that I can attach to the front connections on the case?

That case has an internal header. Check with the bundle that has the m/b headers, fan connectors, etc. You will need to run the header out of the case to connect it to your m/b.

Yeah, but the problem is the motherboard. There is no place to plug the USB 3.0 20-pin cable to on the motherboard.

I may have found a solution though:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I need to get a extension cable to then. Currently the cord in the case isn't long enough to reach the port this card will plug in to.

Thanks!

No header in the i/o area on the back? Older m/b?

I bought this one and it works great in a pcie 2.0x1 and x16 slot. It also gets really fast read/write speeds.

The front usb header cable should definitely reach it and it also comes with two extra usb 3.0 ports in the back.

Oh cool! I like this one better! Thanks!

There are 2 usb 3 jacks in the i/o section at the rear of your m/b. The blue ones.

I know about those; I need a card to utilize the 20-pin USB3 connection to the USB3 jacks at the front of the case. Maybe I am misunderstanding?

OK - my bad. I didn't realize your case connector was female, and you are correct that your m/b does NOT have headers for that type of connector.

The card solution is what you need.

Again, my apologies for running you around.
