Will I need an active mDP to DVI adapter with this card?

Hi,

I'm looking at getting this video card: https://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/HD7950DC23GD5V2/

My question is will I need to use a DP to connect three monitors? I know some cards (Sapphire) don't require the adapter.

Why can't you just use the 2 DVI and the HDMI? Also, I'm not sure I'm following on the MDP question, why can't you just use one of these:

If you are planning on using eyefinity for triple monitor gaming the answer is sort of. You will need a regular DP to HDMI/DVI, and make sure its an active adapter. If you just want three displays, then you can use two DVI and the HDMI to output to your monitors.
