Hi guys, i've ran a few psu calculators and im getting around 250~watts. here's my pc

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

even if im off by 100 watts i should be able to chose just about any gpu and have enough power to supply it right? specifically a card in the 100-150 that can handle guild wars 2.

sorry bout the somewhat long question but upgrading is kind of a last resort. gonna see if i can get anything outta the 610

You bought that prebuilt right and it came with a '500w' power supply? We need the brand and model number of the power supply but I am willing to bet it's a very low end 'Chinese firecracker' brand. Probably not something to trust with anything but a very low end graphics card.

Just looked at the reviews. There is a manufacturers response to every single post on the first page to something breaking and people are still giving it 4 or 5 stars..... Not good.

I agree, I wouldn't use a PSU from a computer like that to run a mid to high end card.

We still need the make and model of that power supply to tell you if it's safe to run anything more powerful than that GT 610.
