So after a bit of a trojan problem I can finally reinstall windows 8 but when it asks me for my product key I have no idea where it is because windows 8 came with my PC which is brand new so it isn't on a box or anything. Can someone please help me find it?

Solution

When you tried to install, did you get as far as the screen 'where do you want to Install Windows'? If so, choose 'Drive Options (Advanced)'. You will then see all your partitions, select one at a time and delete them until you have unallocated space equal to the size of your drive. If you see a partition called 'Recovery' cancel everything and try the 'Restore to Factory' which should be in your Manual

Alright I was enter my product key but this time it says I need to take out the installation disc, restart my computer, and then set a boot device or something. I just reentered the windows 8 disc but it just takes me through the same installation.

It was set to boot from DVD already but it just took me through the same installation before asking me to take out the disc, turn computer off and on again, and re-entering the disc. Then it asks me to input a proper boot device but since a trojan destroyed things I just get a blue screen with distorted lines when I set the boot device to something else.
