This case has a filter under the PSU. I don't know how to install the PSU. If I install the PSU facing fan up I block that vent. If I install it facing down to the filter what the point of the PSU fan then? Does Corsair though about this?

I guess my question is I should install the PSU with the fan pointing to the mobo or pointing out of the case?

Depends, are you intending to put it on carpet or anything where it sinks into a material? If so point it towards the mobo, if not point it towards the bottom.

Also pretty much everyone has thought about it and its a basic feature of modern case design. You're SUPPOSED to install it facing down so it can pull cold air from under the case and blow it out the back, instead of having it use hot air from.inside the case.

You can still mount it facing up (if your putting the case on shag carpeting or something where it will be blocked if facing down) but it will run a little hotter, and be careful not to drop a screw in it.

Edit: and mouse beat me

the point is, in my previous system the PSU was on top and the PSU had the fan on the back (I guess like old models) pulling hot air out of the case (If I recall correctly). Now with this new case the PSU slot is on the bottom and the fan of the PSU is in top (or bottom, depends how you look at it) My system will have a Corsair H80i cooler and I'll move the exhaust fan that comes in the case to the mountings on top to pull the air out... The case will be on the floor (no carpet) So, should I install the PSU with the fan facing down to the filter on the bottom of the case?

My advice still stands, in the end it doesn't really matter, fans aren't that amazingly good that a fan in the top of a case would starve a fan in the bottom of the case. Its only when you put fans side by side that you get that issue.

I would think the fan on the bottom would be best, so it can suck in cool air.

Hahaha, I'm writing all this without the PSU in front of me. But I guess the key is to know if the PSU fan blows air out of the PSU or into the PSU. If it sucks air into to cool the psu, of course if better to take air from outside the case (so install it facing down straight to the filter on bottom case). If the fan push air out of the psu and is located at the bottom it will be more efficient to push and raise the hot air out of the case using the top ventilation...
I hope everyone follows what I am trying to say... again the key is: Is the psu fan draw air in or out of the PSU?
:)
