Okay, so I have planning to get a PC build together for quite some time. I have read many of the forums on here about RAM, MoBo, and everything else. But the CPU forums are the ones that are kinda still up in the air. I want an honest answer, and for christ's sake don't tell me another/cheaper CPU to get. Money isn't really a big issue here, it is more so quality and what I need from a PC. Which one will work better for A LOT of gaming and A LOT of CAD work. Thank you for your answers.

For gaming the 3570k is all you need, but for CAD an SB-E would destroy it.
If I was in your position I would wait for Haswell or IB-E. If you want it now however, get the 3820 if you don't plan on overclocking, and the 3930k if you do

For CAD, the 3570k is not as good as an sb-e.
A 3770k however probably would be very close, for a lower price

Haswell is to Ivy Bridge what Ivy Bridge was to Sandy Bridge. About a 5-10% increase in performance, and lower power utilization. The real difference is in integrated graphics, but not enough most standard gamers or anyone with a discrete GPU.

The 3820 is a very poor choice for x79 because it's quad-core versus hex-core, not because of the clock speed/lack of OC capability. If you're gonna go x79, the only processor that makes any sense is a 3930k unless you want to dump extra money on a 3960x/3970x. I would stick with a 3930k though.

For CAD work, the 3930k is the best option for OP because it has 6 physical cores; even though the 3770k has hyper-threading too, virtual threads don't perform as well as physical threads. Besides, even if you count the virtual threads, it's still 8 vs 12 threads.

Honest opinion, should I wait for Haswell to come out in June or get 3930k right now? Or doesn't really matter?

I totally forgot that 3820 is a quad core :pt1cable:. ignore everything I said about it and go for a 3770k or 3930k

If you're looking at x79, the next processor in line is Ivy Bridge-E. There's no solid release date yet, although it should be out 3Q 2013 (so around the June-July time-frame).

Personally, given how the first gen Ivy Bridge did with the crappy TIM, I'd stick with Sandy-E and go with a 3930k. As a bonus, I found a promo code on Newegg if you can shop there.
EMCXSVP96 will save you 30$ on the 3930k.
