Are you buying a monitor: yes

Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com

Your Monitor Resolution: 4 monitors @ 1200x1920 (portrait rotation)
Additional Comments: Must have TPM chip on motherboard

It's not for gaming, it's a work machine. Yes, it's a high budget, and it's fine if it's not all spent. Imagine your boss saying "I want to assemble the most advanced/fast PC". I'm imagining tons of pixels, lots of SSD (RAID?), server-class CPU/MB, high reliability components, etc. I need help with specifics.

Have 3 monitor setup currently, can keep 2 of the monitors or buy 4 new ones.

I understand now. Thanks. Could you give me a better idea of the software this machine will be running? Just trying to figure out how much graphical power you'll need.

Are you happy with the monitors you currently have? Model?

Software: Chrome, Thunderbird, TeXnicCenter, Adobe Acrobat, GTalk

Monitors: will have to get back to you on this

What is the existing system? that might help. I'm just seeing very BASIC apps that any low end system would crush. No professional apps or anything that would require a workstation...

I'm all for building a kick@$$ one. This is just stuff so far my 3 year old desktop would fly through. (and I wouldn't be surprised if a cheap memory/CPU/SSD upgrade took care of). $5000 workstation that sits idle is a little depressing lol

Yeah not seeing a lot to spend money on here. SSDs maybe. How much storage are we talking about? Also, you'll need a graphical solution that supports 4 monitors.
