why is my desktop blank when i turn on my computer

only after i do a reset thru task manager do i see desktop. when i turn it on, i just see a black desktop thats it, no icons no nothin

Try doing a System Repair.

Boot your computer, and keep pressing F8 repeatedly until the boot menu shows up. From there you can try these actions one-by-one:
- Last know good configuration
- Repair your computer
- Boot into Safe Mode and do a system restore
