Recently windows popped up a message stating that my 1tb drive has an error and that I should try to back it up. Since I can still see the files on the drive I tried to copy everything in there (about 800gb) onto my external. Then an error would pop up stating that the "semaphone timeout period has expired" and at other times "I/O device error". I've tried copying it for 3 times already and it would always end up with on of those errors and freeze. Thinking that there may be bad sectors I ran checkdisk for about 6 hours and it stayed at the 3993 file. I restarted my computer and ran checkdisk again and still waiting.
From the precious attempts to transfer the files I've only managed to get about 30%~ of my data copied and those are the ones that aren't very important...:(
Are there any better options to try and get my files back? Also how long does it take for a full check disk scan?
Thanks.

Info:
The 1tb drive is a WD black, it's been RMA's once already and came back about 3 months ago. Presently it's already past the 5 year warranty.
