Winfast screen frozen

Okay heres what happened i had a small windows xp update which i did i dont remember as i didint think it was going to cause anything bad I left for a 3 or 4 day holiday when I came back i turned my computer on the pc started up as usual but the only thing that showed was winfast i couldnt press any keys or go any further i got to the post screen once then the screen decided to just spread all over the monitor if that makes any sense I got into windows once as i tried to change the password the pc reset Now i have no display as the monitor will not turn on either now i get no beeps when i turn the pc on but everything powers on fans harddrive cd drive and such Any suggestions will help

Assuming it's the Windows update that did this (which can pretty much be the case), try this to get your system back:

1. Boot your computer and keep pressing F8 until the boot menu shows up
2. Choose "Safe Mode" to boot your PC in safe mode
3. From there, go to Start > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
4. Choose to restore your computer at an earlier point from the calendar before you installed that update
5. If all goes well, Windows will reboot and things should be back to normal
