Issue with powering up...

I built my first PC about a year ago. Booted up perfectly the first time and has been great pretty much ever since.

Now however, most of the time I power it up it goes into sleep mode (monitor goes into power saving mode) right away (I don't get the Windows login screen) and it won't come out of it. I have to push and hold in the power button and shut it off, then when I turn it back on it powers up fine. I also noticed a longer delay from when I press the power button to when the PS actually turns on.

My keyboard and sometimes the mouse take a long time to start working once I do get a successful boot.

Any idea what might be going on? Power supply, mother board, software issue?

Thanks,

Update.... I updated graphics driver to 320.00 beta... still get same thing. Uninstalled and went back to a 310.XX driver.... same thing happens. Even with no graphics driver (well, windows default) same thing happens.

On cold boots it goes to sleep mode and only way out is to hold power button. Starting up if that it goes to a selection screen... run a scan or start normally... Hitting start normally gets me to the Windows login screen. At this point my keyboard isn't lit up or working, but the mouse is fine. After a minute or two the keyboard lights up and works.

To me it sounds like a driver issue, but I don't know which. I really don't want to do a HD wipe and a fresh install.

Come on guys! Someone out there has the answer!!

Update: It seems if I let my system sit after going to what seems sleep mode, it does come out of it after a couple minutes.... when the keyboard lights up.

That mean anything to anyone?

What sort of anti-virus are you running on your system and is it updated?

Kasperksy. It's up to date. Never had an issue with it and been using it for 3 years.

Just for peace of mind, if you haven't already, go to cnet and download (free) malwarebytes and run a full scan.
