Why is my 3570k so hot?

I have overclocked my i5-3570k to 4.2ghz and I'm hitting 80*C (and higher) @ 100% load.

I am using a Corsair H60
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181030).

The pump is operating at full RPM (4500) and I've got two high-static pressure fans in push-pull, bringing air from outside the case. Ambient temps are 22*C - 24*C. I have 7 case fans.

After getting these high temps, I lifted the H60 and noticed the thermal paste was evenly spread all around after I had used the line method. I cleaned and reapplied the paste and I was still getting the same temps.

I'm confused, because when I go up to 4.4ghz, I hit over 95*C. Is there a problem with my H60?

EDIT: @ 4.2ghz I need a vcore of 1.25 and at 4.4 I need a vcore of 1.32

Voltages seem a bit high!

You should not need any over-voltage at 4.2 ( 1.19 seems to be "stock", at least on my mobo ), and for 4.4 something around 1.27 should be enough.
Still, 80 deg is a lot, even under these conditions. Try what the previous poster said...

the H60 is a crappy cooler. the Hyper 212 evo cools better for half the price. also you should draw case air out through the cooler not in through it because you are heating the inside of the case the way you have it set up. make sure the water block is attached properly to the CPU. You can also remove all thermal paste and reapply thermal paste and the cooling block to see if that helps.

because of the H60 being such an ineffective cooler the OC you are adding is over the thermal dissipation the cooler can handle.

here is a little bit of reading on the subject. http://anandtech.com/show/6916/cooler-master-seidon-240m-and-12-more-coolers-the-retest-and-megaroundup

The voltage is high because that's the lowest it's stable at. Very sad but true story.

I have removed the plastic cover.

I've reseated it again (removed the motherboard completely from the case so I could firmly mount it) and I'm still getting volcanic temps!

I wanted to return the H60 and get NH-D14, it's only $10 more on Newegg.

Here are my specs:

i5-3570K
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb
AsRock Z77 Pro4
GTX 670
600watt Corsair PSU

Sucks to be you :(

Don't overclock if your CPU can't take it.
Be pleased if it works at 4.0 without getting too hot.

You might also try to sell it to some person without much knowledge which won't overclock it and get another.
